She wasn’t born to fit in but rather to stand out, Zimbabwe might not be participating in the Tokyo 2020 Hockey Olympics qualifiers but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t celebrate.
Last week Sarah Bennett was awarded the 2019 Hockey Association Of Zimbabwe official of the year award after she had one of the most successful year from been appointed into the FIH Pro League panel in June and then later appointed as a technical official during the FIH Pro Hockey grand final.
In August this year Bennett was the technical delegate at the African Road To Tokyo Olympic Qualifiers in Stellenbosch, South Africa. She is not stopping here Bennett has also been appointed as an official at the hockey Olympic qualifiers in London.
Speaking to Sports Rifle 724 an excited Bennett quoted Brian Herbert ” The capacity to learn is a gift, the ability to learn is a skill,the willingness to learn is a choice. ” she went on and thanked Ariel School saying the support of the school in her hockey success story is incomplete without mentioning them, Sarah Bennett is the deputy headmistress of the school.
She becomes the youngest Zimbabwean hockey official to be appointed to officiate at the hockey Olympic qualifiers, next year she will also be officiating at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The hockey Olympic qualifiers kicks off today in London.
